How does exercise combat osteoporosis?

It has to be the right kind of exercise to do any good - weight bearing exercise. There are lots of different types of weight bearing exercise, from running and jogging, through to skipping, dancing and tennis. For a very simple exercise, you can simply jump up and down on the spot. Be careful to place your foot flat to the floor as you come down - don't jump up and down on your toes. Do your jumps frequently - otherwise they won't make a difference to your bone health. |
