(Beat Menopause Weight Gain)

Are your waistbands feeling tighter? Menopausal midriff bulge is caused by fat that settles on the stomach area - and this tummy fat is very bad for your health.

The reasons that apple-shaped body develops is partly hormonal, and the hormone cortisol is behind it. What is cortisol? It's released by the adrenal glands when you're under stress, and it prompts your body to lay down stores of fat on the belly.

It also makes you crave sweet, fatty foods, thus making the problem worse. Find out more about why cortisol and stress are so closely linked, and resolve to cut your stress levels - it's good for your mind, and your body.
