How do I test my heart rate during exercise?

by Alison
(USA)

Worried that I am getting too much out of puff when I do my step routine - how do I tell if heart is going too fast?

Elizabeth's reply

You can use a simple formula to work out your target heart rate, then by checking your pulse against a stopwatch during exercise, you can see how you measure up. Alternatively, you can use a heart rate monitor.

More information here on how to measure your target heart rate.
